Members of Friends of Croft is a
diverse group of men and women which have
interest in horse trails, bike trails, hiking, fishing,
camping, and enjoying natures’ flora and fauna. Although we
may have separate interest, we all work together to help our
wonderful Croft State Park rangers to create an awesome
outdoor environment for all to enjoy.
Friends of Croft was established in mid
2010 and has been growing strongly and steadily. Our group
was presented with a grant from Williams Gas Pipeline of
$750.00 to help maintain washed out trails within the park.
Friends of Croft have helped with Croft
State Parks’ “Fishing for Fun” day for the second year with
donations from members and Williams Gas Pipeline and
volunteering. The park was able to purchase 50 rod and
reels for the first 50 kids that wanted to fish, T-Shirts
and awards for the largest fish in its’ class, as well as
many terrific door prizes.
We have adopted Dairy Ridge Road as our
Adopt a Highway project. Its a great project because it doesn’t
require funds just volunteers. We are looking forward to
our “Meet the Friends of Croft “ fun day and fundraiser. We
hope to see campers, horseback riders, cyclist, fishermen,
hikers and family’s just out for some outdoor fun and
fellowship.
Our goal is to assist the rangers with
volunteerism and funds to help update and maintain Croft
State Park so all may enjoy this 7,500 acre gem in our own
back yard.
